Boy3....the making of a man
When Josh asked to go get his tuxedo from Sandy Springs last night I thought nothing of it, it'll just be a quick run yes he's a new driver with a week old license but hey what can happen. As it turns out plenty can happen in this society as we well know, but we cannot be caged in by our fears; tonight a simple lesson in manhood happened and it made me proud. Letting go is so hard to do, you spend so much of your time pouring love, discipline, laughter, and  life lessons into a perfect mix; for the foundation you know they will have to spring off of time and time again. I read so many discouraging things about young black men everyday, I SEE discouraging things surrounding young black children everyday! On this night I found encouragement in the mix of the foundation.

Watching a young man who not so long ago I held in my arms; wondering who will you be? What will you do? how will this all turn out? After tonight's incident with the car, feeling like I was going to the aid of a little boy, but hopped out of the car to see a young man handling his business. Then he turned to lecture me on how I needed to stay home with a migraine because he had it covered. Mom's have faith in your work, it will never quite be over;but they're listening and learning and they're growing up. We wont discuss how you called your older brother in Boston, and dad who was also out if town first.....my cape stays on...lol. Cheers to the Village, to the sisterhood of mothers, the fatherhood of brothers, thank you for doing what you do, thank you for inspiring and encouraging me, thank you for loving me for the last 22 years of this process, may the creator continue to bless us all..... I love you! Now for Saturdays Debutante Ball ..go Boy3..best escort!
I'm a MOM what's your superpower!
