Spring Chronicles
I haven’t written in soo long that I think I’ve forgotten
how. Writers block, relationship block, graduation block, health scare block have all been in my way, all the while
providing me with the fodder needed for the
blog. You see staying focused has never been my strong suit, and instead of
solving the world’s problems I now have to focus on me. Let’s see shall we
start with
senior-itis
It all started with the birthday ear piercings…I know, I
know it is so not indicative of my upbringing. In fact highly frowned upon by
all who raised me, except my father whose ear was pierced with a star and
crescent earring. How could I say no, after all Boy3 has not really been one
for a lot of redirecting and getting into trouble outside of the usual rambunctiousness
of male children. Not to mention the fact that he actually asked me, instead of
just doing it at 17 like another male child, who was born second and shall
remain nameless (clears throat). Of course my mom shot me that prudish
side-eye, but hell I’m used to it, I haven’t been conventional since the day I
was born.
Then the weekend that you go to spend the night at your
best friend’s house, but ended up staying the night at your other best friend’s
house who is female. Around this time Boy2 has seemingly lost his mind and is
on the L O O S E in the ATL…telling me to pick him up at the mall instead of
where he has been staying, and would NOT give me the address! BOY I hope you know your momma is an honorary
remember of the FBI.......found you, ceased you, and in the nest you have safely
been for about a month. Working every day and staying out of harm’s way.
Next event was Spring Break…Where none other than Boy3 had
the audacity to spearhead a trip where he actually thought him and his cronies…
I mean friends would attend parentless…in PCB…HA!!! The other parents and I
shut that down quicker than you can say HELL NAW! We won’t even talk about the
fact that your girlfriend was amongst those that went on the chaperoned trip
(side-eye, side-eye, and side-eye gain.)
I think it’s safe to say I’m more ready to retire this
post-secondary mom hat than boy3 is to graduate . MAY 26th can NOT come fast
enough, because I’m going to surely hurt this child right here!
I'm a MOM what YOUR superPOWER!
