MOMents....

Thoughts, suggestions ,and random momming. Its so quiet I can hear myself think, I've been up centering myself since 5:45 am, yet I haven't done that much. A few stretches, some mindfulness on today's task, green tea, 1 email 1 text, and a phone call to mom. As a mother of  3 I remember when waking up at 5:45 looked a lot different! I embodied the Army's motto" we do more before six AM than most people do all day". Well change 6:00 to 9:00 because  that's when I had to be at work! In between that window there was breakfast lunch and sometimes dinner made, papers signed, clothes washed, dog jogging (because i didn't have time to walk a Rottweiler who was going to drag me anyway, so I beat him to it)

Looking back on it I don't know how I juggled so much, I remembered tunnelling through. Meaning I had my head straight, seldom stopping to check out what was on either side. Other than a morning run a couple of times a week, and cocktails; self care was nonexistent. I didn't give myself permission for a moment. Sure I stole one here and there, but honestly it was hard to enjoy me when they needed so much. After all I owed them the best life possible! Now I question myself. Would I have been a better parent if I had intentionally taken time outs for me. regular massages, yoga, a book club even. I marveled at those moms who seemed to be able to do and have it all! Who kept there marriages and every hair in place. The moms who paired the perfect workout wear with the perfect body, who baked their goods instead of buying them at the store for the bake sales. I wasn't so much envious, as I was amazed; and at times inspired. Not to compare or compete, but to continue showing up as my best ME!

Motherhood is overwhelming and dare we laugh and say on occasion underwhelming. We can't make up for the divorce, or the type of  house or neighborhood we find ourselves in, as opposed to the one we wanted. We can't be better until we come out of the tunnel. Look up and take a MOMent, you deserve IT!  Life happens everyday whether we participate actively or not, take your power back and choose U!

I'm a MOM whats your superPOWER!
