Love IS..learning to let go

I didn't Feel like doing much today, it was cloudy and I wasn't rising any earlier than necessary. The one thing tugging at me was the overwhelming need to hug my children. Two of whom have recently moved out, rendering me an empty nester....well sort of, Boy3 will be home for the Holidays soon (swoon)..... hell part of the reason that I opted to pursue entrepreneurism is not only to pursue my dreams, but to have time freedom for my family. I'm still doing some sorting in that area, but I digress.

SO I called them earlier well I called in my head but it ended up a text that said...
ME: Are you all up?
Boy1: Not really
ME: Ok call me when you all are up, I need hugs!
(no response....so around 10:30 I feel so moved to go and visit, 15 minutes later I pull up in the driveway and call.)

Boy1: Hello mother... what is this showing up unannounced I hope this isn't going to become a problem I hope...
ME: uhm no just open the door!
I walk in and I am greeted by love known by many other names.... a hug form the first born, and
down the stairs walks a shirtless Boy2 carrying trash from his room as he rushed to clean up...LOL
(I wasn't there to judge, I was there to love)
Boy2: hello mother to what do we owe this pleasure?
ME: If you had answered your phone or text you would have known I was coming over. I miss you!
Boy2: I miss you too, and he gave me another hug. (don't tell the others, but he gives the best hugs)!

I cannot believe how happy they were to give me a tour of their house, I loved the pride they exhibited while showing me there new digs! I must admit I felt proud, it was relatively clean, including the fridge...yes they need food...LOL

As we sat down in the kitchen in walks dad (yes they left the door unlocked)
Boy2: what is THIS! we need an alarm for parents set up down the street! did y'all plan this?
ME: No, your father is stalking me...LOL
We sat in our children's kitchen an discussed work, on time bill paying, crock pots, teapots, and food.  Dad left and I left shortly after. I was actually heading to get sheets and bath mats ( just a few things I noticed missing at a glance)

Dad calls
Dad: Hey are you still with the boys?
ME: No, but I'm not far away
Dad: Grab them and lets do lunch

What ensued was a laughing, loving, living good time! We may not have done everything right , but WE got them right!! Choosing to grow and continue to make strides as co parents of adults is the greatest gift we can give them now.

I'm a MOM whats your superPOWER!
